Started racing at the age of five, and won minicross titles in 1994 and 1995. Yet Davide wasn’t born in a particularly motocross friendly environment. Growing up in the the mountains (darfo boario terme, about 80k from Switzerland) he became an avid skier but gradually his talent in motocross started to grow. As the sport become more important he and his family at to make an extra effort to travel to important races. After a junior title in 2001 he made his 125cc GP debut in 2003, it was a successful season for Guarneri with an encouraging 10th place in his very first outing. Health problems marred his 2004 season but 2005 would be his breakthrough with 1 moto win and a podium a third place finish in the highly regarded Italian MX2 series. Davide confirmed his speed, especially on hard pack terrain, with GP wins in 2007 and 2008. He returned stronger and more confident for the 2009 season, where he achieved his personal best of fourth overall in the MX2 class. Eager to make a name for himself in the MX1 class this year ‘Pota’ is excited to be working together with LS Motors Honda’s sports manager Marnicq Bervoets. For the first time in his career Guarneri will receive close personal guidance allowing him to approach his MX1 rookie season in the best possible way.
Davide enjoys being a professional motocross yet he is an allround sports enthusiast and particularly likes all sorts of motorsports, already having competed on two or four wheels as an amateur. His musical taste is mainly punkrock and one of his favourtite pastimes is his Playstation.
